Delta Gamma strives to instill a feeling of responsibility towards philanthropic commitments in all of its members. Our national philanthropy is Service for Sight. Delta Gammas across the nation fundraise and volunteer their time to assist the blind and visually impaired!
Each year the Zeta Eta Chapter of Delta Gamma at Texas State holds their annual fundraising event, Anchor Splash® . Anchor Splash is an event that raises money for Delta Gamma's national philanthropy. Anchor Splash consists of many specific swimming events in which members from fraternities, sororities, and other men's organizations compete against each other. Events include relay races, the Mr. Anchor Splash contest and most importantly, synchronized swimming. Women from the chapter are selected to coach these male teams and help them choreograph the synchronized swimming routines.

This past year our chapter raised over $5,000 to donate to Service for Sight. Internationally, Delta Gamma has donated over a million dollars to organizations dedicated to serving the blind and visually impaired. We are also able to support Delta Gamma schools for the blind all over the nation. As a chapter, we completed over 1,800 service hours, both for our foundation and other organizations. We collected 742 box tops to donate to the Texas School for the Blind and Visually Impaired in Austin, Texas, where we spend a lot of time as a chapter helping the students that attend. We also donated 581 pairs of glasses to the Lion's Club. This year it is our personal goal as a chapter to raise $5,000 as a donation to Guide Dogs of Texas. Once we meet this goal, our chapter will be in charge of naming one of the puppies!
In addition to Anchor Splash, Dee Gees do other service projects because it gives us the chance to give back to a community that is so willing to open its arms to us as college students. Our chapter participates in many philanthropy events the surrounding community such as the annual Easter Egg Hunt, Relay for Life, Bobcat Build, Halloween festival, and many more. We take pride in bringing joy to these people’s lives because they have touched our lives in a memorable way.
